Rodney Harris
I am writing to thank you for all the help you gave my wife Noreen and myself in carrying out our tour of Chile and also the advice you gave us whilst we were staying over the road from you in the Hotel Puelche. We really enjoyed our trip around the south of South America and found Chile a particularly nice country to be in with a lot of world class views.
On our long trips abroad I very often write up a diary in verse to fill in the long hours spent on board aeroplanes! This time I have done a couple of shorter ones and one of these relates to Chile. I thought you might be interested in having a copy and this is attached herewith. This is obviously written from the perspective of a British visitor and very much in the English idiom. (ie Chile is pronounced "Chilly" in English, Pretty means "beautiful" but can also mean "quite" when related to weather, and a "gent" is short for a gentleman which is intended as a compliment. Hope this helps, particularly for explaining it to others who may not have your excellent command of English.) Enjoy.
Hope you were not too much affected by the quake in Puerto Varas...it seems so close to home when we've been there with you.
With many thanks for your care and attention and good wishes for the future,
